About the event
Course Description: Spend the day outside at Camp Big Woods with Rose Holdorf and Highland Woodshop and build a folding camp stool, ready to take camping, bring to a picnic, or to lounge in your backyard!
In the morning, campers will split into two groups and switch mid-morning: one group will use local plants to dye their cotton canvas stool seat, and the other group will learn how to practice safe confidence with power tools in the wood shop to measure and cut stool parts from dimensional lumber. In the afternoon, we'll all work outside under the trees to nail, screw, and bolt together our stool parts, assembling a functional piece of furniture to take home. Campers should bring close toed shoes, work clothes, a sack lunch, and a blanket to sit on.
